Peace Action in Palo Alto
A march and rally was held in downtown Palo Alto at six p.m. Sunday October 7, to protest the start of U.S.and British bombing of Afghanistan. The Peace and Justice Center of Palo Alto in conjunction with the Stanford Community for Peace and Justice organized the event as soon as news of the Sunday morning attack was released.
A crowd of five hundred gathered in front of city hall to protest the war and call for a peaceful solution.
After listening to several speakers, including Tomás Morán formally of Pacifica Radio, the peaceful gathering marched through downtown Palo Alto carrying candles.
