SF Lovefest 2008 at Civic Center Oct 4-5 11am-4am http://www.sflovefest.org
http://www2.sflovefest.org http://www.sflovefest.org/dj_line_up.php
Parade come down Market Street from 1st st to Civic Center, where the many floats, buses, flatbed trucks with DJs
circle the civic center with BIG sound systems all day.

Saturday, October 4th, 2008 http://sflovefest.org all ages welcome
Parade starts @ Noon @ 2nd / Market St. The love continues to Civic Center Plaza

General information on San Francisco
The current forecast for Saturday, October 4th is a 30% chance of rain. Which also means a 70% chance of sun, and we like those odds. Either way we want you to know our event is rain or shine, and not even a little rain can rain on this parade. San Francisco's weather is notoriously unpredictable, and it might rain at the airport, and be beautiful in the city center. So come dressed for anything, and use the occasion to bust out your hot faux fur outfits, and to show the world the our community is not the least but phased by a little rain!
Of course, drink lots of water. RECYCLE ..RECYCLE ..RECYCLE!! We urge you to keep our beautiful city CLEAN and help keep our landfills as clear as possible. Many trash cans have recycling cages (for plastics, aluminum, and glass). Be sure to find these cans and use them!
Parade Route

• Floats will stage on 2nd st between Market and Howard streets Float and press check in will be at 111 Minna beginning at 10:30am. Floats to check in no later than 11am

• Floats check in at 111 Minna. It is open to the public and all 21+ are encouraged to come in and start the day off with one of their famous Love laced Bloody Mary's.

• Music starts @ 11:30am, parade begins ~12 Noon!

• We are asking for a donation to enter the festival site. Please help us continue to bring the love! With your donation you will receive some goodies (to be announced). The gate donation is absolutely crucial to the survival of the event – please support!

• All float sound systems will face the passenger side of the vehicle (north as they go down Market St.)

• Please don’t litter! Let’s keep the streets clean so we can be back next year.

• Have some class, use a porta potty!

• Check out the interactive map of the SF LoveFest experience provided by EveryScape.

http://www.everyscape.com/sanfrancisco-ca.us.aspx?t=2122&p=246633&f=22.25089&th=-2.56&tl=1338&s=BSuj-I4iBXo

we dance - rain or shine- in the streets to the shared beat of dance music's universal vibe.  If you think some possible light showers early in the day will derail this Love Train, then you haven't been paying attention.  We'll roll with whatever mother nature gives us, and we recommend you see it as diverse costume opportunity, rather than a bummer.

Floats will stage at 2nd St. between Market and Howard starting around 11:00am.  Come down and see the action up close as crews do their final prep.  111 Minna will be open to the public if you're thirsty, and the parade will start at 12 noon.  Don't be a bystander as the floats go by, come out and dance!

Be prepared to make a $10 donation at the festival gates and get a free iTunes card as a thanks with 22 free tracks on it for download of featured SF LoveFest artists.  Let's be safe and look out for each other all day long, as well as be respectful to the streets and property of the city so we an keep this unique event going. For an interactive map of the parade route and festival grounds, check out EveryScape's interactive map

HEAT THE STREET FaIRE!

Sunday, October 12, 2008
Noon SHARP till 12 am
Public Entrance: 19th & Minnesota

On Indiana Street between Mariposa and 22nd, SF
$10 donation in Black Rock Couture/Costume; $20 in streetwear
All ages outdoors; kids under 12 absolutely free!
Outdoor sound ends at Mariposa Stage at 11pm; 10pm other outside areas

Age 21+ inside Cocomo (club closes 1:30am)

The San Francisco DECOMPRESSION Heat the Street FaIRE! is October 12th, so it is time to save the date and pARTicipate! To reserve a space for your art, theme camp, mutant vehicle, or performance at the SF Decom, please email flambe(at)burningman(dot)com TODAY so we can accommodate and celebrate YOUR imagination and spirit. We especially need fire performance and fire/steam art submissions before Burning Man to support the fire permit process (by Sept 12 absolute latest!) - so tell us now how you would like to help heat the street!

And join the dream team! Decompression is organized through a massive team of amazing volunteers - to be one, email firekitty(at)burningman(dot)com.

The DECOMandments

Follow the DECOMandments below to radically enjoy and protect our event!

* Arrive Early! Come at NOON, pack a picnic and enjoy a full day of amazing art, people and programming! Don't come late or you WILL miss amazing experiences and spectacles scheduled only EARLY in the day. Enter at 19th & Minnesota; the other entries are for registered artists/performers.

* Green Your Commute! Don't waste gas seeking a parking spot; parade to the event with thousands of others on public transportation or bike! There will be bike racks at 19th & Minnesota. Or carpool and park at the UCSF lot at 16th & 3rd (3 blocks away with special discounted parking rate), at the ballpark, or on Illinois Street. Please do not park or drive on Minnesota Street or Indiana Street. There will be a taxi stand between 18th and 19th on Minnesota for your convenience.

* Express yourself! Wear your finest playa pageantry or trashion, using imaginatively recycled and reusable materials! Even better, illuminate them with solar lighting for night! And bring warm layers.

* pARTicipate! The world is a stage, and we are all performers, not spectators. We always have room for installation art (especially on the fences), but we're FULL on theme camps, sound, DJ/performance schedules, mutant vehicles and fire. To register art, please email flambe(at)burningman(dot)com TODAY so we can accommodate and celebrate YOUR special contribution to this amazing community. All sound systems, fire art, theme camps and vehicles must be registered - renegade sound or unapproved fire would jeopardize this event. The experience we all share ignites through mass participation, so find your own gift of creative expression to bring!

* Volunteer! We need more volunteers! To be part of the process and team that makes Decompression so special, email firekitty(at)burningman(dot)com. For a list of volunteer positions available, see here.

* Share Your Favorite Playa Photos/Videos! We need the content upfront this year, so please email flambe(at)burningman(dot)com and we'll help you get it up on the big Decom screen!

* HELP US... Express Responsibly! Protect the event and our beautiful new park. We need YOUR help in these ways so we can keep having Decom on public streets:

- Respect the Dogpatch neighborhood, our home for 8 years - enter and leave surrounding blocks quietly;
- Don't park in driveways or on Minnesota Street;
- Refrain from drumming and loud noise after 10 PM;
- No stakes, unleashed dogs, or vehicles or bikes of any kind in the park;
- No drumming, loud or amplified sound after 10PM ANYWHERE. The only exception will be the Mariposa Stage performance until 11PM. If anyone is drumming or making amplified noise on the street after 10pm, please stop it!
- Do stay 10PM-midnight, quietly talk and enjoy the art, theme camps, and community;
- No unapproved sound systems or fire art of any kind. Even chaos has a master plan!

* And of course… Leave No Trace! Pick up trash you see and recycle! Breakdown is 10PM-midnight for the park and 12-2AM everywhere else. By 2AM, EVERYTHING must be gone and small debris swept into the street for the street sweepers. If you are a registered art car or theme camp, please take extra care to not drive over ANY electric cables or distro boxes during setup/breakdown. Take special care during exodus.

* Come back Monday: Please come back Monday, October 13th 11am-4pm for our annual neighborhood and park clean-up! We want to leave things in even BETTER shape than we found them. So, we'll start on Minnesota and 19th, move to the park, Indiana, then surrounding streets. Many hands make light work and every year we leave the neighborhood cleaner than we found it. Bring gloves, brooms, shovels and plastic bags if you got 'em. We'll bring donuts and love you even more! HOORAY!!!

We are on our way to making this our best Decompression ever and a showcase for our art and community in San Francisco. So, help us bring our magical dream of Black ROCK City home to heat the streets of Black TOP City!!
