Watch this short about TV and more...
http://www.5min.com/Video/The-truth-behind-commercial-television-9716
Recent research at the National Institute of Mental Health conducted by Peter Jensen concluded, "Extensive exposure to television and video games may promote development of brain systems that scan and shift attention at the expense of those that focus attention."
Let's take a look at how this works inside the brain and what we can do about it.

New World Order impact on Texas
First Texas, then California, then Nevada, who know's?
Bush can call in World War III, and he'll remain in power like Castro.
Who wants to start first? Friends,
Former Mexican President Vincente Fox spilled the New World Order
agenda for the U.S.A. on Larry King Live: erasing borders and a
common currency.

Monkeys Can Die from Bananas
"Contrary to the stereotype, bananas are not the preferred
food of monkeys in the wild. Bananas, especially those
containing pesticides can be upsetting to the monkeys'
delicate digestive system and cause serious dental problems
that can lead to eventual death." - sing in Costa Rica

When buying AUTO PARTS or other parts: try this line:
"can I get a price on a..."
then they give it to you.
And you say: "ok, thank you."
Indicating that you understand the price BUT you are not jumping on it or buying it.
In this way you are establishing you are not a sucker.
In the future when phoning any place,
Always use that line.
"can I get a price on a..."
That will tend to get you a lower price BECAUSE
that way you sound like a professional, and not a sucker.
They have a wide range of pricing they can quote you.
So depending on the place... It is best to appear to be IN THE KNOW.
TELL A FRIEND! This is so important!

*Protest* Tony Blair in Oakland!! -- Paramount Theater
Tuesday October 23 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM PARAMOUNT THEATER 2025 BROADWAY
(at 20th & BROADWAY, Downtown Oakland) OAKLAND, CA (BART STN. at 19TH ST. & BDWY)
*************** PROTEST!!! ***************
*************BE THERE EARLY!!!************
Check *this* out!...: not content with the death & debacle in Iraq, Blair is chompin' at the bit for an attack/war on Iran!
If you liked the first movie, you'll LOVE the sequel!
Read about Blair's "lets go to war --again-- this time with Iran" speech he just gave in New York -- just in time for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season, I suppose.
(Yeah..., "Pass the gravy", "Peace on Earth" & "Goodwill to All".)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7052080.stm
Apparently he's on a speaking tour to whip up war fever for yet *another* war.
And trying to live out England's past glories through the U.S. and being Bush's yap dog.
Btw, this is the same speaker series organizers that brought another WAR CRIMINAL, the ZIONIST WAR CRIMINAL, BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, to Berkeley back in 2000. Apparently they like RIGHT-WINGERS, PSEUDO-'LIBERAL' POSERS, MASS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATORS and WAR CRIMINALS.
LET'S GIVE "BUSH'S POODLE" A 'WARM' -- A *VERY* 'WARM' -- BAY AREA WELCOME!

6.30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 24 The Power of Community + Crude Awakening UCBerkely
Crude Awakening tells the story of how our civilization’s addiction to oil puts it on a collision course with geology. Shot on location at oil fields in Azerbaijan, Venezuela, the Middle East and Texas, the film visits with the world’s top experts and comes to a startling, but logical conclusion – our industrial society, built on cheap and readily available oil, must be completely re-imagined and overhauled.
With Panelists: Monica Moore (Pesticide Action Network, North America) and Miguel Altieri (Prof. of AgroEcology, UC Berkeley) Willow Rosenthal (City Slickers Farms) Antonio Roman-Alcala (Allemany Farm)

October 25: 9pm The Wind That Shakes the Barley FREE MOVIE
Ireland, 1920. Damien and Teddy are brothers. But while the latter is already the leader of a guerrilla squad fighting for the independence of his motherland, Damien, a medical graduate of University College, would rather further his training at the London hospital where he has found a place. However, shortly before his departure, he happens to witness atrocities committed by the ferocious Black and Tans and finally decides to join the resistance group led by Teddy. The two brothers fight side by side until a truce is signed. But peace is short-lived and when one faction of the freedom-fighters accepts a treaty with the British that is regarded as unfair by the other faction, a civil war ensues, pitting Irishmen against Irishmen, brothers against brothers, Teddy against Damien... I sure would like to see the ride group together and remain a mass,
thereby minimizing impact on traffic and pissing off fewer motorists.

NOT 3 intersections ahead.
We could make room for cars to make right turns at corked intersections.
I think we should be visible and fun, and not upset or inconvenience people.

Important Anti-War Protests: This Wednesday AND October 27!
San Francisco: a massive die-in that is being planned now, and a post-march interactive “convergence” in Dolores Park.
On October 27 in 11 major U.S. cities, anti-war demonstrations will take to the streets
demanding: End The War/Bring the Troops Home NOW!
In Northern California, a large and broad anti-war coalition has joined forces so that together, organizations, unions, congregations, and many diverse communities can mobilize a large and powerful demonstration and rally. Two new events will be part of this October 27th in San Francisco: a massive die-in that is being planned now, and a post-march interactive “convergence” in Dolores Park.

End the War Now – Protest
SF Civic Center
11 Massive Demonstrations for Peace
Boston, Chicago, Jonesborough, Tenn., Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle
The U.S. occupation of Iraq has led to 4000 American deaths and roughly 30,000 injuries. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died and millions are homeless. Spending on the war thus far has been $457,984,243,792.
While most Americans oppose the war, there is no end in sight.
If we want the destruction and waste to stop, we have to take to the streets in protest in large numbers. This is the only way our elected officials will realize that their perpetuation of the war will end their political careers.
For this reason, a wide array of groups have come together to organize a series of major demonstrations this fall. One of these actions will be a protest and march in San Francisco on Saturday, October 27th. We'll start at the Civic Center at 11am and later march to Dolores Park.
Join us, tell your friends to join us, volunteer as an organizer and donate to our effort to show Bush, Cheney, Pelosi and Feinstein that northern California is fed up with the war and won't tolerate any more excuses. No more surges, no more study groups: BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!

OCT 27 -- A “DIE-IN”
there WILL BE an art/photo/lie-down-amongst-strangers opportunity
that day. A.N.S.W.E.R. is organizing a mass ‘die-in’ as the march leaves
the Civic Center and heads west on Market Street. On the incline between
Valencia and Duboce streets, marchers will lie down across Market Street by
the thousands. If you’re there, you can probably spot yourself in the news
that night or the next day.

People everywhere want the war to end, but Washington has failed to take decisive action. With each passing month, nearly 100 service-people and countless more Iraqis are killed, some 12 billion of our tax dollars are spent, and the death and destruction continue. Our communities - from New Orleans to Minneapolis - are neglected and suffer the consequences. From Boston to San Francisco, from New York to New Orleans, on October 27th the people will speak: We want this war to end, and we want it to end now!

Experience the power of sacred sexuality in this hands-on, clothes-off workshop.
This 2.5 hour workshop will focus on the male as receiver. Men must attend with a partner. This workshop welcomes givers of any sex.
We will practice a series of conscious breathwork techniques and Taoist erotic massage, which can lead to extended, full-body orgasm and an altered mind-state conducive to spiritual insights.
Honestly, if you're looking to get off, this isn't for you. This is a spiritual, erotic, non-ejaculatory practice that stimulates and spreads erotic energy throughout the body. It is very hot, but it isn't sex as you normally think of it.
After the introduction and demonstration, we will practice the breathwork, and you will be guided through a series of different genital massage strokes. Participants will then have an opportunity to give or receive a 40 minute massage with integrated breathwork and coaching.
There is no sexual interaction between the giver and receiver except for the massage itself, and all boundaries will be respected.

7:30 pm Tuesday, Oct. 3O SNEAK PEAK of King Corn UCBerkely
Don’t miss one of the year’s most important and entertaining films! With all the talk surrounding Michael Pollan’s newly infamous The Omnivore’s Dilemma, this movie has come at the perfect time! It’s the smarter, hipper Super Size Me for a hopeful new age in which people have realized that our current state of agriculture is in big trouble.
King Corn is a feature documentary about two friends, one acre of corn, and the subsidized crop that drives our fast-food nation. In King Corn, Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, best friends from college on the east coast, move to the heartland to learn where their food comes from. With the help of friendly neighbors, genetically modified seeds, nitrogen fertilizers, and powerful herbicides, they plant and grow a bumper crop of America’s most-productive, most subsidized grain on one acre of Iowa soil. But when they try to follow their pile of corn into the food system, what they find raises troubling questions about how we eat – and how we farm.
With panelists: Michael Pollan (author, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, The Botany of Desire), Aaron Woolf (film maker), Ian Cheney +Curtis Ellis (film stars).
Discussion theme: Corn, farm subsidies, rural communities and the Food Bill.
Screening at the Hillside Club 2286 Cedar Street in Berkeley. This film will open at the Shattuck theater on November 2nd.

Dia de los Muertos Fri Nov 2, 7:00 PM 24th & Bryant (Mission District) 37.7531, -122.482
ROUTE: West on 24th from Bryant to Mission. North On Mission to...
The procession will end in Garfield Park at the Festival of Altars 8:30 PM at 25/26th & Harrison/Treat.
This Park has 6 OLD Sequoiahs that are planted in two sets of 3. So it looks like 2 trees.
Also has more trees better spaced on borders of park.
WHAT A WASTE! I am so upset that people hear Redwoods like company, so they plant them six feet apart. What a waste!
Please plant Redwoods 20 or 30 feet apart. These trees become very large.
Day of the Dead San Francisco is a community event that has been happening for the last 29 years. There are many organizations and people that contribute to the richness of this event, The Mission really comes together in a beautiful way.
The annual procession, lead by Rescue Culture Collective, will be on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 7:00 PM at 24th & Bryant, in the Mission District of San Francisco.
Please bring flowers, candles, and remembrances of your loved ones for our community altar. This event is FREE and open to the public,

Experience the power of sacred sexuality in this hands-on, clothes-off workshop.
This 2.5 hour workshop will focus on the female as receiver. Women must attend with a partner.
This is a spiritual, erotic practice that stimulates and spreads erotic energy throughout the body.

"They have always taught and trained you to believe it to be your patriotic duty to go to war and to have yourselves slaughtered at their command. But in all the history of the world you, the people, have never had a voice in declaring war, and strange as it certainly appears, no war by any nation in any age has ever been declared by the people."

6.30 pm Thursday, Oct. 11 Our Daily Bread + We Feed the World
Screening at the Hillside Club 2286 Cedar Street in Berkeley
Welcome to the world of industrial food production and high-tech farming! To the rhythm of conveyor belts and immense machines, the film looks without commenting into the places where food is produced in Europe: monumental spaces, surreal landscapes and bizarre sounds – a cool, industrial environment which leaves little space for individualism. People, animals, crops and machines play a supporting role in the logistics of this system which provides our society’s standard of living.
Our Daily Bread is a wide-screen tableau of a feast which isn’t always easy to digest – and in which we all take part. A pure, meticulous and high-end film experience that enables the audience to form their own ideas.
We Feed the World is a film about food and globalization, fishermen and farmers, long-distance lorry drivers and high-powered corporate executives, the flow of goods and cash flow–a film about scarcity amid plenty. With its unforgettable images, the film provides insight into the production of our food and answers the question of what world hunger has to do with us.
With San Fransico area breadbakers: Steve Sullivan (founder Acme Breads); Julie Cummins (CUESA); Phoenix Pastaficio; and Eduardo Morell (Morell’s bread)

This documentary explores the juvenile criminal-justice system, and the increasingly controversial practice of sending youth offenders through the adult system. Focusing on a group of twelve young offenders chosen randomly to participate in a video-production workshop at Eastlake Central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles (where they await trials as adults), the film compares their crimes and sentences, explores their feelings about the experience of juvenile hall vs. adult prison, and examines the media's role in affecting public
opinion about youth offenders and how they should be handled. (2004)
