3/5/12 KPFA News on Rampage over Recall

by Stop Hate Pacifica Gang
Shaken fully awake this morning by a 4.0 earthquake centered in El Cerrito at 5:30 a.m., I stayed awake for the 5:55 a.m. news on KPFA. After a brief recognition of the earthquake, Aileen Alfandarry and Mark Mericle, both proud members of the Hate Pacifica Gang, announced as news that Pacifica has announced an elections supervisor for this outrageous, phony and VERY EXPENSIVE recall of outstanding Tracy Rosenberg. Alfandarry also lied by omission on the Mirkarimi frame-up and refused to announce KPFA's livestream of today's education rally while proudly announcing all the Democratic Party officials speaking at the same education rally in Sacramento. That was their entire newscast. No figures on Democratic Gov Brown's disastrous attack on education were given.
The livestream of the education rally will be carried by KPFA today, March 5, 2012 at
http://www.kpfa.org/kpfa-live-stream-channel

WHEN WE GET OUR BALLOTS, WE WILL IMMEDIATELY VOTE NO AND MAIL THOSE BALLOTS. We must STOP THE RECALL OF TRACY ROSENBERG. For more information, see:
http://www.stopthekpfarecall.org/
and the endorsers of the Stop the Recall at
http://www.stopthekpfarecall.org/?page_id=25

On the Mirkarimi case, Alfandarry failed to mention the fact that by Friday, March 2, 2012, the videotape CANNOT be used as evidence because an appellate court is considering the issue on appeal. This was reported in the local daily gossip rag, purporting to be the newspaper of record of Northern California, the San Francisco Chronicle, on March 3, 2012 AND IS AGAIN REPEATED IN THAT SAME RAG IN ONE OF TWO ARTICLES ON THIS FRAME-UP on March 5, 2012, one of which is the reactionary Matier & Ross column, and the other is a story how an ex-Chronicle editor, Phil Bronstein, is going to testify about Sheriff Mirkarimi’s alleged abuse of an ex-girlfriend, which is completely irrelevant. Women are being used by the capitalist class in this case to frame a sheriff who is doing what he can to stop evictions and is the kind of person who will expose the election fraud perpetrated by the Democrat-Republican Party of San Francisco, including the election fraud perpetrated by Mayor Ed Lee, which was exposed in the local press. And Alfandarry always fails to mention the fact that if Mirkarimi is convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, he can remain Sheriff. In fact, Sheriff Hongisto spent 5 days in jail over a paper-stealing incident and remained Sheriff. Whatever marital problems he may be having can be and have been addressed in private counseling sessions and do not belong in taxpayer funded courts.

As to the Recall of our beloved Tracy Rosenberg, Alfandarry had Mark Mericle provide the “news” blurb, including how these thugs ran to the state attorney general to attack Pacifica and force this criminal recall election. Mericle spent most of his time whining about how the recall should have happened during the December holidays, when it was his Hate Pacifica Gang which refused to accept the supervisor for the election that had been selected. He bragged about the small group of supporters, some 800 to 1,000, out of 22,000 listener-subscribers, who claim to support this destruction of KPFA and Pacifica because if Tracy is recalled, the Pacifica National Board, of which Tracy is also a member, will have enough votes to fire Arlene Englehardt, replace her with their puppet, who will fire station manager Andrew Phillips, and replace him with their puppet who will assault us again with the garbage Morning Show, and proceed to continue to drain KPFA and Pacifica of funds as they did before the changes, AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF KPFA AND PACIFICA, a network of 5 stations, and many sister stations, providing a voice that is critical of US foreign and domestic policies.

THIS IS BARRICADES TIME TO SAVE OUR RADIO STATION, KPFA, AND PACIFICA FOUNDATION, THE CHARITY WHICH HOLDS THE LICENSE. VOTE NO ON THE RECALL AND REMEMBER TO VOTE IMMEDIATELY AND MAIL THAT BALLOT IMMEDIATELY.

Hey, Hater...You aren't going to pull a Rush Limbaugh are you?

OOPS, you already did.

LOSER!

Engelhardt won't be fired whether or not the recall campaign succeeds. The board has already retained her through the end of the year and she has plenty of support on the national board. You don't have to believe me. Save KPFA's Dan Siegel says exactly the same thing.

You wanna spend $25,000 of listener money for no reason at all, go ahead, but don't lie to people about what the results will be.

Engelhardt will remain as executive director
Phillips will remain as general manager
The Morning Mix will remain on the air.
KPFA will be broker.

That's about it.

Thanks for the $25,000 figure as the expense of this recall to a charity that can barely pay the bills, with some 2/3 of the bills being wages and benefits, including giving full medical and pension benefits to part-time employees. When we elect an anti-recall majority in the almost annual EXPENSIVE Local Station Board elections which being so frequent make any recall unnecessary, all recall provisions in the Bylaws must be repealed. This year we pay for a recall sometime this year followed by a Local Station Board elections in September; next year we also pay for September Local Station Board elections, all very expensive.

Dan Siegel has NO credibility. This is the thug who threatened Dan Borgstrom who sued Dan Siegel. See
http://danielborgstrom.blogspot.com/2010/08/siegel-youre-suing-me.html
Here is the video of this thug, lying as always:

The scenario for firing the outstanding Arlene Englehardt and Andrew Phillips by changing who sits on the national board was on the SaveKPFA website. These people are all very goal oriented and thus this scenario should not surprise anyone. In addition, the pro-recall audience members who spoke and Brian Edwards Tiekert, another pro-recall employee, proudly promoted the restoration of the Morning Show in his act at the Marin Peace & Justice Coalition 2/6/12 forum on the recall, which was videotaped at:
http://www.stopthekpfarecall.org/?p=709

ON THE SAME VIDEO, Anthony Fest, an anti-recall volunteer who does the Weekend News at KPFA, described the scenario for taking over the National Board of which this recall is a part. He starts on tape 2, at 43 minutes. He refers to a leaflet the SaveKPFA gang distributed at the forum as evidence. Most of the 200 employees at KPFA are volunteers; some 35 or so are paid, and not all are fulltime.

Dan Siegel has endorsed the lies on the slick mailer promoting this recall we listener-subscribers all received on or about December 31, 2012. His name is on the List of Shame endorsements, he is on the SaveKPFA website and the recall website http://recalltracyrosenberg.org/endorsers/

The good thing about the list of endorsers on the Recall website is that it is far shorter than the other Lists of Shame on the SaveKPFA and KPFAworker websites, both pro-recall websites. That is not enough to defeat this outrageous theft of our funds; we must vote No on the recall in massive numbers.

Pacifica has been under attack by the US government, Democrats and Republicans, since its inception in 1949, and this is the latest attack. The past 52 years are easily remembered by this writer. The pro-recall hoodlum till-tapping, lying gang has as its leading light the former editor of the CIA's magazine, Paris Review, namely former KPFA programmer Larry Bensky. With apologies to taking up the space on this website, but with the knowledge that we must inform everyone as to who the adversaries are, here is the background on Larry Bensky:
1. His attacks to callers on air:

I also oppose the recall but could you, in future posts, identify yourself by your own name rather than "Stop Hate Pacifica Gang"? I always use my own name because, corny as this sounds, I think we've gotta discuss our different viewpoints about KPFA and Pacifica rationally and respectfully.

Re the struggle around Ross Mirkarimi and what he represents, I posted my latest KPFA Weekend News report about this to Indybay a few hours ago: http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2012/03/26/18710114.php

And I do agree that Ross's thoughts and efforts re foreclosure have not gotten nearly the coverage they deserve. He is very conscious of where the legal authority is. . . right now it's all with the courts, and because California isn't a judicial foreclosure state, even the courts, and the most sympathetic judges, are very limited in what they can do.

Easy for Supes or Councilors to urge Assessors and Sheriffs to stop doing their jobs, but they're not the ones who'll go to jail or lose their jobs over it. The law needs changed. Ross understands that and is very articulate about it.
