South Bay | Health, Housing, and Public ServicesTea Party Participants Show Signs of Confusion Pt. II
All photos here copyrighted by Paola Gianturco. Extremist Right Wing "Tea Party" (TEA = Taxed Enough Already) participants descended on the intersection of Stevens Creek and Winchester in San Jose on July 5. There they encountered members of the Raging Grannies and allies, who had been singing out for single payer health care on the corner.
Angry "teabaggers" tried to block the health care reform activists' signs so they could not be seen by passing cars. The Grannies cranked up the amp and led chants as things heated up. Police on mounted horse came to monitor the situation when the some of the pro-gun tea party people starting bragging a little too loudly about their fire power.
§Teabagger tries to take on two Grannies
Teabagger tries to take over the corner, but behind her the Grannies are not to be outdone
Perhaps you didn't get our message? Here, take a copy of the lyrics:
Grannies sang to tune of My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean: Healthcare, health care, we need single payer healthcare! Grannies, on the other hand, carpooled or came by bus
Sadly, they don't get it...they need single payer as much as the rest of us!
The Tea Party folks don't want ANY kind of reform...go figure...
Grannies rule!
...seemingly everything the Tea Party ultra conservatives despise
