South Bay | Health, Housing, and Public ServicesTea Party Participants Show Signs of Confusion
Some Signs Seen as the Extremist Right Wing "Tea Party" (TEA = Taxed Enough Already) participants descended on the intersection of Stevens Creek and Winchester in San Jose on July 5. Union members, *Health Care for All* Activists, San Jose Peace and Justice Center members, WILPF members, Raging Grannies, and other Single Payer Health Care Plan supporters faced off with right wingers who could use a lesson in American Government.
First of all: it isn't spelled Gov'mnt. Nor is it abbreviated that way. Second of all: Obama is not a socialist...not even close! Third of all: Fill in what YOU'd like to teach the Tea Party people in the *comments* section below! Free Market Health Care has gotten us exactly WHERE?
Christian, American, Heterosexual, Pro-gun, Conservative...
and, he might have added, likes to draw animal netherparts as a pastime. "Clinging to my bible and guns, and now my wallet too."
Worries about Obama at night.
According to the tea party people, Canadians and Europeans are fleeing to the US because of our wonderful health care, and Japanese get most of their elective surgery done outside their own country. Sounds like a Rush Limbaugh line if you ask me....
Obama on a dollar bill
Health Care? Yes!
Insurance Companies? No At left, Tea Party Go'er with Stars and Stripes faces off with member of Steam Fitters Union and two Raging Grannies.
...San Jose's mounted police decided the crowd of several hundred might need closer "monitoring".
...that the Tea Party go-ers think that only their OWN views are patriotic. They wave their flags beyond. (Real patriots are concerned for more than their own wallets)
Green Party members
Just some of the groups that support Single Payer and sent members to counter protest against the Tea Party were: Santa Clara County Single Payer Healthcare Coalition, Raging Grannies Action League, South Bay Mobilization, Peninsula Peace and Justice Center, One Voice!, Californians for Justice, San Jose Labor Party, San Jose WILPF(Womens International League for Peace and Freedom), and the San Jose Peace and Justice Center.
