East Bay | Government & ElectionsIMPEACH! More Photos from Berkeley
Here are more photos from Brad Newsham's 4th Beach Impeach Action. Brad was a taxicab driver who was tired of hearing people complain about the direction our country took since the Bush administration was installed in Washington, D.C. ![]() beach_impeach_goes_to_cea... Berkeley, California
October 7, 2007 Somewhat more remote than earlier locations-- the morning began at the Beach Impeach #4 site with a sparse arrival of attendees. Bart does not run directly between San Francisco and Berkeley on Sundays, and bus service does not serve the park adequately. Thousands were elsewhere attending the popular Columbus Day parade in San Francisco's North Beach district-- and countless others were doubtless participating in the popular San Francisco Fleet Week activities (with its requisite "patriotic" fly-over by the U.S. Navy's Blue Angel team). As early as yesterday Brad Newsham worried that not enough people were signing up to participate. Just the same-- hundreds of people still managed to arrive-- people who have thought seriously about what patriotism means at a time when their government leaders have put their families and friends in the service of illegal wars, torture, and multiple breaches against the U.S. Constitution. There were enough people (probably the anticipated 1,000 or more) to write IMPEACH! with their prone bodies such that their feelings could be communicated to photographers who flew in by plane and helicopter. And to make this impeach action especially exciting and memorable-- special guests participated: notably CINDY SHEEHAN (who is running for Congress against Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco representative and House Speaker who has refused to honor the U.S. Constitution by impeaching the most criminal George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney)... ...and CYNTHIA MCKINNEY who, with much prodding from devoted fans, is expressing an interest to run for President of the United States as a Green Party candidate. Cynthia is best known for her consistent courage in confronting the most corrupt faces of power in Washington. At the close of her congressional term in 2006, she was first to introduce articles of impeachment against Bush. Following are some of the first snapshots I took of today's Beach Impeach action. (More will follow.) These photos are contributed for the sake of the people who participated-- and also for the many millions of other people who might have wished that they could have participated. Make no mistake: MILLIONS of PATRIOTIC Americans today, irrespective of what Representative Nancy Pelosi has said, want to see Impeachment "put on the table". They want Bush and Cheney, and all those who recklessly helped them TO ANSWER FOR THEIR ACTIONS: ACTIONS THAT HAVE RESULTED IN MILLIONS OF HORRIBLE AND NEEDLESS DEATHS FOR MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN AT HOME AND AROUND THE WORLD; ACTIONS THAT HAVE BLED THE U.S. TREASURY DIVERTING HUMANITARIAN TAX-PAID MONIES TO THE MOST GREEDY AND UNCONSCIONABLE CORPORATE ENTITIES AND INDIVIDUALS; ACTIONS THAT HAVE DESECRATED THE U.S. REPUBLIC THROUGH A WILLFUL AND CALLOUS DISREGARD FOR THE U.S. CONSTITUTION ITSELF BY USURPERS OF POWER WHO FALSELY SWORE TO UPHOLD IT.

![]() beach_impeach_goes_to_cea... Yoko said she is retired on a fixed income. For today she crafted hundreds of orange Impeach ribbons for people to wear at the event. She has participated in many other protests since the Iraq war began.
Carol Brouillet also managed to come.
![]() beach_impeach_goes_to_cea... Carol thought she might not be well enough to attend-- but came anyway. She has worked assiduously for years trying to alert people of the crimes of the Bush administration-- especially its reluctance to allow an honest investigation of the September 11 terrorist events in 2001-- events that gave it a carte blanche to initiate sweeping illegal and unconstitutional actions in an open-ended and irresponsible "War on Terror".
Carol has run against Anna Eshoo in her own congressional district on the issues of 9/11 and Impeachment, she came up with the idea of Deception (and now, Conception) Dollars, and she has promoted the message of patriots who question the Official 9/11 commission Report. She has also interviewed Brad Newsham on her weekly radio program called "Questioning war - Organizing resistance". More: http://questioningwar-organizingresistance.blogspot.com/

![]() beach_impeach_goes_to_cea... According to his website:
The first Beach Impeach took place at Ocean Beach in San Francisco on January 6, 2007, two days after Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the US House of Representatives. One thousand people participated. Beach Impeach 2 took place at Ocean Beach again, on April 28, 2007 and attracted 1,500 people. Beach Impeach 3 took place on Saturday, Sept 15, 2007, at Crissy Field in San Francisco, and drew 1,000 people.
Less than hour before the event...

The event was to begin at 11, but people were still arriving.
