Thu Oct 26 2006 (Updated 11/06/06) Sandra Tellis to Receive Bands' Share of Proceeds from Rock Show
Several local hard rock bands have organized a show that will be a fundraiser for Sandra Tellis. Tellis is a 45-year-old woman from Oakland. On Friday, September 1st, she was beaten, tied up, and set on fire. She is reportedly recovering slowly in a Bay Area hospital. A medical fund that accepts donations at the bank or by mail has been set up in her name at Bank of America.

The bands will play on Friday night, October 27th at the Uptown, at 1938 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland. Doors are at 8pm, and it's 21+. Participating bands in the show include Placenta, Soul Broker, The Greenhouse Effect, and Stonecutter. They say that 70% of the price of admission ($8) goes to the fund (this is the percentage that the bands would be making), as well as $2 per CD that is sold. Additional donations will be accepted.
