Several local bands have organized a show that will be a fundraiser for Sandra Tellis. Tellis is a 45-year-old woman from Oakland, California. On Friday, Sept. 1, she was beaten, tied up, and set on fire. She is in critical condition in a Bay Area hospital and is slowly recovering. On Friday, Sept. 1, she was the victim of a terrible attack. She was beaten, tied up, and set on fire. She is in critical condition in a Bay Area hospital and is slowly recovering. Sandra's recovery will be long and slow. Please help us in letting her know that people around the world care. A medical fund has been set up in Sandra's name at Bank of America. The account number is 05555-42840. To make a deposit, you can go into any Bank of America branch and give that account number. Checks can be made out to the Sandra Tellis Medical Fund. The concert will be held at the Uptown, which is located at 1938 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. Participating bands include Placenta, Soul Broker, The Greenhouse Effect and Stonecutter. 70% of the price of admission ($8) goes to the fund (this is the percentage that the bands would be making), and $2/CD sold. We will also have a donation box at the door, and we will be "passing the hat" during every set.
