Thursday September 28th 8:30 PM. :
HOMOTOPIA premiere :
radical queer film program featuring world premier of new film HOMOTOPIA.
Set sometime in the future-present Homotopia chronicles a group of radical queers dedicated to exposing the trouble with gay marriage, dismantling the State, undoing Empire, while looking totally fierce. Woven into the story of Yoshi's adventures in love, resistance, and sex, is a critique of the crushing violence of
homonormativity
and its deadly perpetuation of patriotism, conservative kinship structures, and
affective accumulation. [ affective? effective?? ]
Homotopia holds cinematic assumptions hostage through its motley assemblage of never-passing crew. Race, gender, ability and desire are reworked through an anti-colonial take of queer struggle creating a visual rhythm of melancholic utopianism that knows there may be no future but still hopes today is not their last.
Love revolution, not State delusion, Homotopia.

SF, Sept. 23:
At the LoveFest in Civic Center (after the parade),
nudity was fully tolerated.
There were several nude men,
and at least one bare-breasted woman,
on a joyous (tho often chilly) afternoon.

On Sept. 24 at Folsom Street Fair, there were many nude men,
and many bare-breasted women.
( But TBL arrived late; missed most of them. )

Islamo-fascists challenge traditional DUTCH TOLERANCE:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/09/24/RVG67L6R0E1.DTL

[ Note by TBL: The Dutch have displayed religious tolerance for centuries ---
at least since they sheltered the Puritan "pilgrims",
who moved from England to Holland in the 1600s..

These "pilgrims" found Holland TOO tolerant,
for their uptight tastes.
So they migrated again, to Massachusetts, where they tried to create an
ecclesio-fascist totalitarian state. ]
