future California: GREENZONES, REDZONES:

To the SF Chronicle:

A few months ago, I began trying to imagine The City around 2020, thru a future guidebook,
including this item:

"Redzones & Greenzones: Greenzones are enclosed areas (including walled communities, government/corporate/military compounds, etc.), fully-defended on a 24/7 basis by military units
(federal, state, or mercenary). Redzones ( or "the redzone") comprise territory not included in greenzones. Entering a greenzone requires permission. Many redzones aren't considered safe at night."

So the Chron report on Meacham Place strikes me as an earlier, gentler, foreshadow.
