The same ship was unable to dock in Portland on Wed, Aug 15 as a result of a 12-hour picket line. Protesters are acting in solidarity against the violent and inhumane tactics employed by Italian police during the recent protests at the G8 meeting in Genoa. The dockworkers are members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), and did not cross a picket line.
