BART's General Manager Dorothy Dugger, the only person currently empowered to fire a BART police chief, decided that it was appropriate to allow Chief Gary Gee to retire of his own accord with full benefits. Klamath Justice Coalition Halts Logging on Karuk Sacred Sites This morning the Klamath Justice Coalition used a human blockade of 15 people to defend Karuk sacred sites from logging activities. The action took place near Orleans, CA within the Six Rivers National Forest and halted work on the Orleans Community Fuels Reduction Plan. “The OCFR is actually the Orleans Culture and Forest Reduction plan,” said Leaf Hillman, a Karuk Ceremonial Leader in Orleans. Bayarea Advocates visit Chowchilla Valley State Prison for Women on Spirituality Day. 
Once again we took a trip to Chowchilla Valley State Women Prison on Spirituality Day. This trip was unique having come on the heels of our last visit on Peace Day - that event was a tremendous success. This event the first of many to come was put on fast track, and all things being even - it was a great success. It is always great for those that honor Mother Earth - to form the circle and speak from the heart - an ability given to those that honor the Great Spirit....

Nov. 19, 2009 - Courtroom Notes from Change of Venue Hearing Last Thursday a hearing was held to determine the county where the PEOPLE vs. johannes mehserle will be relocated. The hearing started with a few housekeeping items. The judge then allowed each attorney one hour to present an argument why this trial should be moved to either Los Angeles or San Diego....
