San Francisco--Roselle protested against the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas because she thinks that, "its wrong that the wealthy people of our country should be able to take over entire nations." Hundreds of corporate representatives are advising the US negotiators who are writing the rules for the FTAA....

San Francisco--The rights of immigrants have been trampled while free trade agreements such as NAFTA have made crossing the US-Mexico border easier for television sets than for people. Public Hearing (2/23) regarding a 51-megawatt "peaker power plant" at SFO.
I've researching our power situation today and ran across this press release from the California Energy Commission. Basically this says a new power plant is being proposed for SF airport, owned by El Paso Merchant Energy. This looks like an alternative to the plant that was going to float on the bay that no one wanted. Looks like there trying to slip this in. A Energy Commission vote is scheduled for Mar. 7. A public hearing is 2/23 at 10 am at the Holiday Inn in South San Francisco....
