For Solidarity
In a historic development all docker unions in South Africa are now on strike against a miserable wage offer and in disgust with the corruption and mismanagement of state owned entities such as Transnet which has been bankrupted: now the workers are forced to make up these losses with no real wage increases.

Draft Resolution
We, -------------------------------------------------- in Union branch at --------------------offer our support to RETUSA and other docker unions in South Africa in fighting against a miserable wage offer and threat of privatization. Dock workers in South Africa were in the front line of resistance against apartheid, in 1969, 1972 and thereafter. When times were hard the dock workers were stronger in resistance.After apartheid workers fought for the National Dock Labour Scheme to eliminate the humiliations and destitution of cheap casual labour. Instead of progress, piece by piece of the gains of struggle are being lost through gross mis-management, corruption and now privatization.We support the demands for a 10% increase across the board which effective from 1st April 2022.Increased housing subsidy by 10% with similar support for medical aid assistance payment and a night shift allowanceGuaranteed 13th Cheque to be paid on 15 December 2022
NO TO PRIVATIZATION of Transnet.
Forward with the dockers struggle in South Africa and internationally;
forward to workers democracy and socialism!
