“Social Media Hacking”
As social media is increasing the number of hackers are as well. Social media was once a place or an outlet for socializing with your friends and family. The first big social media outlet was created on August 1, 2003 was called MySpace then came Facebook and followed by that Instagram. Not only has social media expanded itself tremendously but it has also created an outlet for people with bad intentions to access other people's lives through the Internet. These so-called hackers are getting very good at their job hacking into people’s accounts and using the identity of these people to promote or to hack others. For example in the book “They’re watching your personal privacy on social media.” Alexis Burling Talks about how being too open in social media is bad because it exposes people to identity theft especially in these times people have gotten smarter and faster and are hacking people.

When you think that you’re sending a picture to your friend or posting things on social media it’s not just for your eyes at that point it’s for someone else as well and because social media and technology in general allows people to access these photos people's identities are then taken.
