Join the caring staff and friends of the George Mark Children’s House at 5 pm on Saturday, October 7th, for Autumn Celebration 2017, a fundraiser to support families of children with a terminal diagnosis or life-limiting illnesses. In addition to inspirational stories and house tours, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, entertainment, enticing interactive and silent auctions, cognac tasting, raffle and more. The event takes place on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the George Mark Children’s House, situated on five picturesque acres in San Leandro, California.

George Mark Children’s House is the first freestanding pediatric palliative care center in the United States, and the leader in the pediatric palliative care movement. Since 2004, the exceptional staff at the George Mark Children’s House has served more than 3,000 children, parents and siblings.

“We provide safe, superior care to children in the comfort and warmth of a home-like setting, and we extend this support to their families who never see a bill for the medical care provided,” said Founder and Board President Kathy Hull, whose recent TED Talk has garnered international attention. “We are deeply grateful to our supporters, who have helped us to improve the quality of lives of these children while providing a compassionate, supportive atmosphere.”

Individual tickets are $350. Sponsorships range from $3,500 to $25,000 and are available online at GeorgeMark.org, by email at mheller [at] georgemark.org, or by calling (510) 346-1274.

About George Mark Children’s House
As the first freestanding pediatric palliative care center in the United States, George Mark Children’s House has set a new standard of care for children with chronic or terminal medical conditions. Since 2004, George Mark Children’s House has been the center of excellence in the pediatric palliative care movement, often serving as a model and offering assistance for new facilities across the United States. The multi-disciplinary or integrative medical care provided at the center offers greater well-being and quality of life for children and their families during a painfully difficult time, making a profoundly meaningful difference in their lives. Families with a patient at George Mark never see a medical bill, and its model of care is offered at significantly less cost than that of an acute care hospital facility.

The goal of the George Mark Children’s House is for each patient to achieve the best quality of life possible. The hope is that one day this level of care – and this type of center – will become the standard for every child facing a chronic or terminal medical condition.
