8/1/16 SF Janitors March for Union Contract

The San Francisco police department, an arm of the capitalist party known as the Democratic Party, same as the Republican Party, which has been sitting at City Hall since 1964, receives $577 million a year from San Francisco taxpayers, and all we witness is a total waste of our tax dollars by the police. The entire police budget should be transferred to all human services departments, in particular, to the housing of the 10,000 or so homeless in San Francisco permanently. The sidewalks of San Francisco are now filled with the homeless everywhere, including in the Financial District.

Instead of affordable housing, the City of San Francisco has been permitting the building of hundreds of units of luxury housing, including the $350 million 58-story Millennium Tower at 301 Mission Street where condominiums go for $1.6 million to more than $10 million which is now sinking and tilting since it was built on unstable mudfill, below the original shoreline of the Bay, because the City does not require ALL buildings to drill piles to bedrock, 200 feet down in this case, which would avoid the tilting and most of the sinking. The Millennium Tower is a residential building and thus was permitted to only drill 80 feet into the sand. San Francisco is earthquake country and therefore ALL BUILDINGS should be required to DRILL TO BEDROCK. The lives of the 400 residents of the Millennium Tower and of the hundreds of people working in the surrounding skyscraper office buildings are endangered by this lack of earthquake proofing of the Millennium Tower when, not if, the next big earthquake hits San Francisco.

To attempt to cope with the deficit, the City taxpayers had to pay far more than necessary to build the Transbay Transportation Center and 61 floor tower (now at 33 stories) across the street from the Millennium Tower, to shore up the Millennium, which is one reason why there appears to be no money for the necessary CalTrain extension from 4th and Townsend to the Transbay Transportation Center. They could and should get that money from the federal war machine budget.

That is always difficult considering the Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, is a proud warmongering party since it is in munitions and oil, both used extensively by the military, where the greatest profits are, and it is profits that are the primary concern of the capitalist class represented by the Democrat-Republican Party. The Democrats, at their Nazi rally known as the Democratic Convention in July 2016, proudly screened a promotional of illegal and barbaric drone killings to promote the war machine. For anyone to sit through that and support it with the Nazi chant of “USA, USA” as did the Clinton supporters means they and their party are criminally insane. And then they have the nerve to get excited that their candidate, millionaire, fascist war criminal Democrat Hillary Clinton, will be the first woman president, when 85 women of 54 nations have already been the head of state. The Democrats are real good at opposing minor reforms like an elected Public Advocate, which will be on the November 2016 ballot. The Democratic Party leaders such as millionaire war profiteer former supervisor, former mayor, Senator Dianne Feinstein; former police chief and former mayor Frank Jordan; millionaire, anti-rent control mouthpiece of the real estate and gambling industries, former mayor and assemblyperson Willie Brown; and millionaire former supervisor and former mayor, now Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, all oppose the elected Public Advocate. It should be obvious that if this group opposes the public advocate position, it must be worthwhile. We know Willie Brown best as Mr. Election Fraud both in the 49er Stadium Swindle election of June 3, 1997 and all mayoral races thereafter all perpetrated at the behest of the Democrat-Republican Party and the capitalist class they represent, and in the Democrats’ election fraud of the 1970s.
