About the readers/performers:

N.K. Jemisin's new book is The Fifth Season. Her other books include The Inheritance Trilogy and the Dreamblood duology. Her short fiction has appeared in Clarkesworld, Postscripts, Strange Horizons, Baen’s Universe and other magazines and anthologies. Her work has been nominated for the Hugo (three times), the Nebula (four times), and the World Fantasy Award (twice); shortlisted for the Crawford, the Gemmell Morningstar, and the Tiptree; and she has won a Locus Award for Best First Novel as well as the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award (three times).

Maggie Tokuda-Hall has an MFA in writing from USF and a tendency to spill things. She splits her time writing for children and writing for adults, and her debut children's book, And Also an Octopus, comes out in 2016. She's also written a lot of amazing smut for the Shipwrecked series of literary fan-fiction.

Maw Shein Win lives in Berkeley and teaches in San Francisco. She often collaborates with visual artists and musicians, and her most recent chapbook, Ruins of a glittering palace, was published by SPA/Commonwealth Projects. She is a poetry editor for Rivet and is a member of the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto.

Ocean Capewell's first novel, The Most Beautiful Rot, was published in 2014. She's currently working on her second book, a memoir entitled The Wrong Universe, about being genderqueer and falling in love with a trans partner who passes; it’s about the strange pull between those worlds, the realization that one is not in the wrong body but the wrong universe.

Soma Mei Sheng Frazier's Collateral Damage: A Triptych earned praise from Nikki Giovanni, Daniel Handler, Antonya Nelson and others. New work is forthcoming in ZYZZYVA and Glimmer Train. Soma is completing a screenplay and novel.
