It is difficult to find a list of the antienvironment stocks which state treasurers invest in... they are clouded in secrecy
On June 2, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel completed a $47.8 million Israel bond investment. In 2013, Mandel completed a $42 million Israel bond investment.
In commenting on Mandel’s latest investment, Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi said, “We are deeply gratified by Treasurer Mandel’s exceptional investment in Israel bonds. Over the past two years, Treasurer Mandel has invested nearly $90 million in Israel bonds, and Ohio’s total Israel bond holdings now exceed $105 million.”
Tapoohi added, “These holdings – the largest ever by a state treasurer – highlight Treasure Mandel’s appreciation for Israel bonds as significant investments for funds calling for the strictest level of fiduciary responsibility. It also underscores his confidence in Israel’s economy, which today is widely recognized as being among the most resilient in the world.”
Mandel explained the Israel bond investment is “consistent with our strategy of making sound investments that prioritize the safety of Ohioans’ hard-earned dollars.”
To date, over 80 state and municipal public employee pension funds and treasury funds have invested over $2 billion in Israel bonds.
