SF PUC Protest Rally Calls For Removal Of CPUC Chair Michael Peevey

At the October 2, 2014 meeting of the California Public Utility Commission health and safety activists called for the immediate removal of the Commission chair Michael Peevey. Peevey has a record of collusion with PG&E and Southern California Edison SCE where he was a former executive.
He has also sought to manipulate selection of judges and has a long history of representing the interests of those industries that the commission is supposed to regulate. They also sought to keep open the San Onofre Nuclear plant and then make ratepayers pay for the broken plant.
Peevey and the commission have allowed SCE and PG&E to lie to the public and to hide records putting the public and workers in danger. They have also allowed the utilities to retaliate against whistleblowers. They have also allowed the installation of SMART meters without any studies of the potential health and safety dangers and environmental dangers.
