There will be mass labor action on July 1 to defend transit and public workers who will be going on strike or taking protest action. Also KPFA and the International Labor Media Network will be broadcasting live from the Frank Ogawa/Oscar Grant Plaza.

Monday, July 1st

San Francisco actions:
All locations, start at Civic Center BART at UN Plaza
6:00am Strike lines, passing out leaflets to riders
12:00pm Lunch-time picket, swell
5:00pm Convergence rally and action to end Day 1 of strike at Civic Center BART, UN Plaza

Oakland actions:
7:00am Strike lines go up at Frank Ogawa Plaza
10:00am 300 Lakeside (BART HQ) kick-off, march to Frank Ogawa Plaza
12:00pm Frank Ogawa Plaza major convergence rally and action
12:00pm Picket lines at UCB against union busting UC Management and regents

July 1, 2013 KPFA Special Programming

Millions of bay area people will be affected. We will look at the conditions of the BART/AC transit workers, why there maybe a strike and how a strike will affect all our communities. We will also hear from workers in the East Bay Parks, Oakland and other unions that have had their contracts expire. This is an issue for all working people.
