Join us for an update on plans followed by outreach for the April 13 National Day of Action to say, "U.S. Drones Out of Africa, Middle East, Asia and Here!" We will discuss plans for the day of action, then split up into teams to go out leafletting and postering for the protest. Volunteers Needed! No prior experience necessary!
Having killed more than 4,700 people through U.S. drone strikes in Central Asia, the Middle East and the Horn of Africa, the U.S. government is now putting all of Africa in the crosshairs.
The targeting of Africa and its vast natural resources by the Pentagon and CIA is in full swing. Under the guise of “fighting terrorism” or “saving civilians,” the United States, France and Britain are invading and bombing African countries. The Pentagon is establishing a drone base headquarters in Niger and a network of drone bases throughout the continent. In late December 2012, the United States announced a plan to send military missions to as many as 35 African countries.
Inside the U.S., drones are being used by many police agencies. The U.S. government has deployed drones along the US-Mexico border as part of the campaign to arrest and deport over 1.5 million immigrants since President Obama took office four years ago.
