Ballooning debt, general strikes, global warming, mortgage market meltdown, the War on Terrorism, the rise of Latin American socialism, Occupy Wall Street, the Arab Spring, China, and the Battle of Seattle. What do all these events have in common? We will explore global issues of trade, multi-national corporations, poverty, terrorism, class conflict, the anti-globalization movement from a multi-disciplinary perspective using readings, lectures, class discussion, games, videos and music to focus on what the individual needs to know about globalization to be an engaged citizen in a turbulent global world.
