Sacramento, CA ~ By popular demand, The Third Theatre Troupe’s Kwanzaa Musical purpose is to encourage Kwanzaa celebrations through live performance, is featured at the California State Capitol Kwanzaa Celebration.

Having previewed December 15th for San José History Park’s Kwanzaa Festival 2012, Kwanzaa Musical Youth are preparing for a speical Kuumba celebration at the California State Capitol, Room 126, 3:00 pm, Monday, December 31, 2012.

Our special, Freedom's Eve, 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, is an intercultural, interfaith, intergenerational 'first fruits' celebration, not to be missed.

The cast of includes: a Hispanic young adult Rebecca Moreira from Richmond, European American elementary student Savannah Sweet of San Carlos, Chinese American 1st grader Lauryn Rong from Palo Alto, Caucasian middle school student Sarae` Barnett of Hayward plus Senior African American Phillip E Walker - founding Artistic Director of San Jose’s African American Drama Company, with David Glover of Oakland serving as Musical Director. These talented performers model, sing, dance and act out the history of Kwanzaa, teaching the seven principles and symbols of the 7 day holiday.

Forty minutes in length, the musical theater playlet has been well received family fun all across the nation, from Disneyworld, Orlando, Florida to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum, Cleveland, Ohio and more.
