Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada use of political repression and political violence against First Native Nations.

CANADA'S HARPER-THE NEW INDIAN KILLER THAT HAS TURNED CANADA INTO THE NEW SOUTH AFRICA- by Mike Raccoon Eyes
On December 10, 2012 the GREAT AWAKENING occured when the First Nations of Canada stood together on a unified front against the racist, colonial 'administration' of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. As a Native writer and journalist, and as well being a Native Advocate for more Human and Civil Rights for the Greater Indian Nation on both sides of the artifical border of the United States and Canada, the GREAT AWAKENING had occured and I could not and would not turn my back on our People.
I remember watching youtube videos of our Native People taking over and occupying the colonial Legislative House in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I yelled in joy and wept at the same time, seeing this awesome sea of Native humanity taking over and occupying this racist symbol of Canada's colonial past and present. I am always proud to be a Native Man, but I was even more proud to be a Native Man on December 10, 2012.
For the past number of years, the world had no idea of the true realities of oppression and repression that First Nations had gone through, and particuliarly under the Harper's 'administration in Canada. The current government in Ottawa is clearly THE NEW SOUTH AFRICA. Harper's cruel, cold-blooded tactics of political repression and political violence is appalling and shameful. His clear denial of national and international violations of Human and Civil Rights against First Nations is both illegal and unconstitutional.
The United Nations has clearly recorded evidence that under his regime that he is waging a WAR OF GENOCIDE AGAINST FIRST NATION NATIVE PEOPLE. The conditions of how Native People in the the urban cities are living to the say the least is terrible, and on the reserves, the Harper has allowed Native people to live under Third World shanty towns.
The Harper 'administration' has one goal and one goal only: TO KILL INDIANS BY AN MEANS NECESSARY! As a Cherokee Native man I can tell you, it was the INDIAN KILLER, then President Andrew Jackson in the late 1830's in the history of this colonial country that INTRODUCED THE CONCEPT AND PRACTICE OF RELOCATION, CONCENTRATION CAMPS (that would later become our reservation system) MASS EXERMINATION, ETHNIC CLEASING AND RACIAL GENOCIDE. Jackson called it; THE CHEROKEE SOLUTION. 180 years later, Hitler would send his envoys to the States to study Jackson's blueprint , from there Hitler would follow the same exact blueprint of relocation, concentration camps and mass exermination during his Third Reich and called it THE FINAL SOLUTION.
We in the Greater Indian Nation suffer from Historic Trauma; our unresolved grief about the mass exermination, ethnic cleasing and racial genocide that has been done to we Native people of the past and present. Under Harper, Canada has refused to sign the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights of Indigenous People. First Nations and the United Nations clearly have a enough evidence and documentation to have him TRIED AND CONVICTED OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY by the Hague, the World Court of the United Nations. Mr. Harper truly believes he is ABOVE THE LAW and is untouchable.
THE ONLY LEGITMATE GOVERNNMENT IN CANADA IS THE ASSEMBLY OF FIRST NATIONS, HARPER KNOWS HIS TIME IS RUNNING OUT AND HIS BACK IS UP AGAINST THE WALL! TO SHOW HIS CONTEMPT AND RACIAL HATE OF THE FIRST NATIONS, HE IS NOW ATTEMPTING TO ELIMINATE AND TERMINATE ALL TREATY OBLIGATIONS AND COMMITMENTS THAT EXIST BETWEEN CANADA AND THE FIRST NATIONS. THE BILL IS CALLED C-45.
Harper's 'administration' has no legal or constitutional authority to take such action on the behalf of Canada, only First Nations and Crown are able to do as such. And this what lead to the GREAT AWAKENING on December 10, 2012, when the First Nations stood united with massive civil protests and amazing grass roots actions to show and display the displeasure of the First Nations to Harper's lame and weak 'adminstration' IS OUT OF TOUCH AND OUT OF CONTROL WITH THE REAL GEO-POLTICIAL WORLD! All Harper has done, is to show that his 'administration' is THE NEW SOUTH AFRICA.
And trust me folks, the FIRST NATIONS AIN'T GOING ALONG TO GET ALONG ANYMORE! Harper has proved he is out of control and his current 'adminstration' will go down very soon!

As a settler I agree whole heartedly with all your points.
This action would get political attention, and further shame the powers responsible for the political violence, but in tandem from an ecological/ grass roots perspective, the Canadian public would do well in having to rely more on one another, and their local communities rather than goods shipped internationally. With the GMO foods and a public that is beginning to demand better labelling on their consumer goods, potentially, it could be a means to escape the grasp of international consumerism, which is tearing the mother earth apart.
As a woman I empathize with and support your battle against a patriarchal system and the need for self determination. So, consider this a gentle suggestion to use as you will. I'm just throwing it out there.
Perhaps asking for support from the international communities as well as corporations, and THEN raising a campaign from WITHIN the country, asking all concerned Canadians to boycott goods from corporations and countries that don't support the movement, would help fortify the movement by stimulating a grassroots economy and encouraging the Canadian people to understand the link between what they consume and the health of all people and future generations. In this way you would be affecting the system inside and out.
Of late, the sad realization that colonialism has re-manifested itself as corporatism, encourages me to understand that my greatest power is consuming wisely. There is a brilliant new app for Iphones and androids named http://slaveryfootprint.org. It enables us to track the peoples, or slaves incurred by buying a product internationally. It's becoming quite popular. It can be used in stores when making brand choices as well. It also includes a link that enables users to fire off a letter to the corporation in question asking them to clean up their act.
If you do proceed with sanctions, seeing as social media seems to work for grassroots causes, a similar app, designed around Idle no more and the sanctions might really catch on fire.
This is a great time for sanctions in that, with the global economic instability and a dissatisfied public, governments and corporations both need business.
Blessed be
