And Austerity Outside Board Meeting On December 13, 2012 a protest was held outside the Community College of San Francisco Board of Trustees meeting to protest the demands for big wage cuts and austerity despite the passage of a revenue increase through proposition A in the last election in San Francisco. According to union members the appointed trustee who is paid $1000 a day is engaged in disassembling the college and removing any local and staff control. The teachers are members of AFT 2121 and their union along with SEIU 1021 faces major cuts and the downsizing of the college which has 90,000 students. SF city college AFT 2121 member were angry that despite the passage of Proposition A providing for more funding for the college the trustees are moving ahead to attack their wages and to eliminate more classes.
