As part of the national WalMart Black Friday on November 23, demonstrations and protests were held in San Leandro and Richmond in the Bay Area. WalMart workers spoke about the intimidation and terrorism on the job to silence them from speaking out and organizing. Some workers walked off the job in solidarity with the national day of action and were promptly fired. Making Change at Walmart is the organizing group which called this day of action and it is supported by the United Food And Commercial Workers Union UFCW. In San Leandro, WalMart on November 22, 2012 also threatened the use of the police to remove the protesters including their own workers.
