We are the living graves of murdered beasts
Slaughtered to satisfy our appetites
We never pause to wonder at our feasts
If animals, like men, can possibly
have rights
We pray on Sundays that we may have light
To guide our footsteps on the path we
tread
We're sick of war We do not want to
fight
The thought of it now fills our hearts with dread
And yet we gorge ourselves upon the dead
Like carrion crows we live and feed on meat
Regardless of the suffering and pain
We cause by doing so. If thus we treat
Defenseless animals for sport or gain
How can we hope in this world to attain
the PEACE we say we are so anxious for
We pray for it o'er hecatombs of slain
To God, while outraging the moral law
Thus cruelty begets its offspring: war.

Christmas dinner's dark and blue
When you stop and try to see it
From the turkey's point of view.
Sunday dinner isn't sunny
Easter feasts are just bad luck
When you see it from the viewpoint
Of a chicken or a duck.

Pork and lobsters, lamb chops too

I got lots of friends who are turkeys
An all of dem fear christmas time,
Dey say 'Benj man, eh, I wanna enjoy it,
But dose humans destroyed it
An humans are out of dere mind,
Yeah, I got lots of friends who are turkeys
Dey all hav a right to a life,
Not to be caged up an genetically made up
By any farmer an his wife.
Turkeys jus wanna play reggae
Turkeys jus wanna hip-hop
Havey you ever seen a nice young turkey saying,
`I cannot wait for de chop'?
Turkeys like getting presents, dey wanna watch christmas TV,
Turkeys hav brains an turkeys feel pain
In many ways like yu an me.
I once knew a turkey His name was Turkey
He said `Benji explain to me please,
Who put de turkey in christmas
An what happens to christmas trees?'
I said, `I am not too sure Turkey
But it's nothing to do wid Christ Mass
Humans get greedy and waste more dan need be
An business men mek loadsa cash.'

In a plate of organic grown beans,

THIS AMERICAN LIFE COVERAGE OF TURKEY FARMS AND SLAUGHTERHOUSES

suffocate.
In some factory farms
the fans are unprotected
and the turkeys fly into

In the slaughterhouse in which

terrorized birds upside down.)
After the electric cutting
of the jugular comes
the scalder.. and the
blood room, then 6 picking
machines which literally
beat the feathers off the birds
.. then the feet are cutoff..
then to the eviscerating room
where the guts are pulled out..
next the heads are pulled off
.. followed by machines
vacuuming out the lungs
.. finally the packaging,
the stapling and
posting the weight stickers
(and then the blood
and urine go into the streams..
along with the female hormones
antibiotics and in some cases
prions they contain..
while the lungs, guts,
heads, and feet go into
pet food and in some cases
become Mad Cow generating
illegal food for cows, sheep
pigs turkeys chickens fishes)
