A conversation with Assembly member Nancy Skinner, former EPA regional administrator and current CA Water Resources Control Board Member Felicia Marcus, Sierra Club’s Beyond Oil campaign director, Michael Marx, and Earth Island Journal editor Jason Mark, about the implications of the election results on our environment.

About the panelists:
Nancy Skinner is a member of the California State Assembly representing District 14 which includes parts of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. She has been active in politics and environmental initiatives since her early days as a student at UC Berkeley, and is nationally recognized for her efforts in the fight against global warming.

Felicia Marcus, a former regional administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, during the Clinton administration, and Western Director for the Natural Resources Defense Council, is currently a member of California's State Water Resources Control Board.

Michael Marx, Ph.D., is Director of the Beyond Oil Campaign for the Sierra Club U.S. Michael received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he taught organizational behavior in the business school. He was a management consultant for 10 years to Fortune 500 companies, but left consulting to become an environmental activist and helped lead several campaigns to improve the practices of major corporation. Michael then coordinated the International Tar Sands Oil Campaign which involved over 50 groups working in the US, Europe and Canada.

Jason Mark, editor of Earth Island Journal and co-manager of Alemany Farm in San Francisco. Jason Mark is a writer-farmer with a deep background in environmental politics. In addition to his work as editor of the Earth Island Journal, he is a co-author of Building the Green Economy: Success Stories from the Grassroots and Insurrection: Citizen Challenges to Corporate Power.
