Some background on the case can be found at http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2012/10/29/18724715.php ("False Arrest Trial of Three Mayors Begins")

Mayors Fitzmaurice and Krohn will face interrogation under oath on the witness stand for their false arrests of 2002 and 2004, done under the cover of the "decorum rules". Actually the arrests were designed to silence and punish criticism of their authoritarian process.

Some unusually positive and accurate Sentinel coverage can be found at http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/santacruz/ci_21899399/robert-norse-tells-federal-jury-city-suppressed-critics.

More witnesses to the incidents involved will testify today including Linda Lemaster, Robert Patton, Coral Brune, & Scott Graham. They are expected to say that Norse created no disruption at either meeting. Norse testified that it was the Mayors themselves that stopped and thus "disrupted" their own meetings and then had Norse arrested for refusing to leave.

Jury instructions and closing instructions will probably not happen until Monday November 5th. There will be no court hearing on Friday November 2nd.

Linda Lemaster faces a phony criminal charge herself in a trial that is likely to begin Monday November 5th for peaceful and lawful protest in front of the courthouse in August 2010 in the PeaceCamp2010 demonstrations. See "Trial Readiness Hearing for Lemaster Lodging Trial" at http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2012/10/31/18724833.php
