Letter to Bay Comrades from KTeeo
This is a letter penned by Katherine Olejnik who is currently incarcerated at SeaTac prison in Washington State. KTeeo, as she is commonly known, was imprisoned on September 28, 2012 for refusing to cooperate with a grand jury recently convened in Seattle. It has become clear in recent weeks that the federal government convened the Grand Jury to intimidate and investigate anarchists in the Pacific Northwest. It is not a stretch to call this trial a witch hunt and KTeeo and others have shown great strength and courage in remaining silent. KTeeo asked me to distribute these words to Bay Area comrades and encouraged friends and strangers to write her in jail.
Friends New and Old In the Bay!
I want to thank you so much for all y’alls support- I would not be able to
do what I do without the amazing support work of others- so again thank
you, thank you for your kind words, your letters, and for doing outreach.
I want to assure you that I am doing fine. I have been making friends and
learning a lot both from books and from those who I have met. I spend my
days reading, writing, corresponding, working out and hanging out with my
new friends. Being in here, spending time with them further reminds me
that every prisoner is a political prisoner and deserves the type of
incredible support that I have been receiving. Hopefully one day we will
have the network in place to make that a reality.
Anyway- I just wanted to say ‘thank you’- to let you know how I’m doing-
and to apologize to anyone I have not written back yet (I only have
access to 20 stamps a week). I promise I will respond, all of your
letters have meant so much to me, it just may take me a hot minute. I
would also like to say that I would love to keep hearing from y’all and
getting to know y’all better.
Keep Smiling- Keep Struggling
In Solidarity,
Kteeo
