Not only are we not going to fight your wars, we're not going to sign on to your program of targeted assassinations, indefinite detention and domestic spying.
The Democratic Party would have us believe that Obama's "not as bad as Romney." What the hell kind of measure is that? And frankly, what could be worse than the presumption of power to assassinate at will, around the world, with no oversight or accountability?
Former supporters have witnessed the "real" Obama for 4 years. They've gotten their fill of broken promises to close Guantanamo, reject the Military Commissions Act, and adhere to the Geneva Conventions. And suffered indignation at the pledge he did honor: escalation of war on Afghanistan.
World Can't Wait will confront the lie that human rights and fundamental freedoms are negotiable, that war crimes can be rationalized by illusions of moral superiority, that those who have been so badly bamboozled in the past won't come to their senses.
Join us with your own signs about why you won't settle for the "Democratic" values of unchallenged self-interest and greed.
A better world is possible. But it's not going to happen with a "vote." As with successful social advancements in the past, from civil rights for blacks and women to ending the Vietnam War, it will take an independent mass movement of people acting in the interests of humanity and the planet.
But first, we have to say NO! to the "lesser" of two evils, the Democratic Party Platform that Obama represents.
