Workers Comp "Reform" & The CA Senate AB 863 Debate and Vote
On August 31, 2012, the California Senate had a debate and vote on the
so called "reform" of the Workers Compensation bill. No injured workers
groups on California were supporting the "reforms" which will harm many
seriously injured workers who can no longer return to work. The bill was
pushed through in the last week of the California legislative session without
offering injured workers the right to voice their concerns. The bill was
supported by the California AFL-CIO, the insurance industry, Governor
Brown and the Democrats and Republicans.
