Jessica Jane Robinson, a.k.a. Recycle Woman, to advocate on behalf of The Climate Reality Project

Alameda, Calif. – Local actor, model and environmental advocate Jessica Jane Robinson has been invited to join Al Gore's Climate Reality Leadership Corps, to become a Climate Leader specially trained to educate the public about climate change and how we can solve it.

Ms. Robinson's training will include a full-day session led by the former vice president himself, next month in San Francisco.

"I'm thrilled to join the corps and further develop my skills to better motivate and organize the community to address the climate crisis," she said.

Those efforts will include "Recycle Woman," a crusading environmental superhero conceived by Ms. Robinson, and on which she based a 24 minute short film of the same name.

She is currently working to launch the Recycle Woman character as a cartoon superhero. To that end, she has engaged Vince De Quattro, a former technical director for Industrial Light and Magic, founded by George Lucas in 1975 to create the special effects for "Star Wars."

To fund this superhero character development work, Ms. Robinson has launched a crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter. She is aiming to raise an initial $5,600 to develop initial character designs, character studies, a 30-second animated presentation and print promotional materials. The Kickstarter link is here.

Commenting on Ms. Robinson's work, Mr. De Quattro said, "She is a positive message for youth empowerment, and a role model for generations to come."
