In two years in office, Governor Jerry Brown has drastically cut CalWORKS, a welfare program for poor parents, mostly women of color. A panel of speakers strategizes how to rescind these budget reductions and build a movement to fight all social service cuts. Thursday, July 26, 7:00pm. New Valencia Hall, 747 Polk St., SF.
