You are invited to a conversation with Joey Johnson after his return from Sanford. Come hear Joey’s report about his experiences going out among the people all along the way from Georgia to Florida. Sanford, Florida is the small Anywhere, USA town where 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was murdered. One day in America a young Black teenager goes to the store for candy and never comes home – because a vigilante deemed a Black kid in a hoodie as “suspicious.” Whose heart did not ache with outrage and anguish when you read about the racist killing of Trayvon Martin? And who does not yearn for a day when such injustices are no more? If you’d have supported the activists of Mississippi Freedom Summer and the Freedom Rides in the 60’s, you’ll want to hear about, stand with and support Joey Johnson and the the BAsics Bus Tour today.
Co-sponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee (510-275-4272) and Revolution Books (510-848-1196) Donations welcomed. No one turned away. Wheelchair accessible.
