The Oakland Unified School District Superintendent and Board Of Education are closing five public schools while opening up charters in Oakland. A protest was held at the Lakeview Public Elementary school to stop its closure. The Board intends to use it for administrators instead of students in the neighborhood. Also, the privatizers are engaged in attacking all public schools in the state and are pushing a so called "tax compromise" that will further pushing funding of charters and the elimination of oversight of these charter boards and where they put their money. Parents at Lakeview Public Elementary School are angry about its closure.
The Bill And Belinda Gates Foundation are funding many non-profits to close public schools and open charters for profiteering by Pearson and other private entities making public schools profit centers
Students at school which will be closed to bring in Oakland school administrators who want the site for their own use.
