The greatest success of Occupy is said to be the way it has “changed the conversation,” making the discussion of wealth inequality possible again. In this Forum, we would like to examine what insights and motivations are behind this shift of political attention. We will explore the connection between class analysis and fellow feeling, and contrast a politics of envy with a politics of empathy.
