Teach a Summer Free Skool class, deadline June 7th
Have you ever put something off longer than you intended only to find that you ran out of time? Luckily for all of us, that won't happen with your class submission as you are now noticing that there are just a few days left to submit a class for the Summer Quarter.
A radically different approach to living and learning, Free Skool Santa Cruz is a grassroots educational project beyond institutional control. It is an opportunity to learn from each other and share what we know, to foster communities of mutual support and autonomy. The project strives to blur the lines between teacher, learner, and organizer. Free Skool is decentralized, with classes held in homes, social spaces, and parks. Do you have unique skills and knowledge? Are you willing to share what you know?
If you have a class idea that focuses on self-reliance, community, do-it-yourself culture, and creating a new and beautiful world, propose it to us.
INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS:
Scheduling & Commitment: Summer Quarter runs July 1st to September 30th. You choose how often you want to teach your classes and what days fit your schedule. If you schedule a class, we ask you to commit to it.
Teaching Space: We encourage teachers to find their own spaces for their classes, but if you need it, we may be able to help you find a location.
Deadline: For teachers, the deadline to remember is June 7th. We'll need your class information by that deadline. We will not calendar classes after this date.
Teacher Responsibilities: Free Skool is a decentralized, non-institutional project. In other words, you and I make it happen. Therefore, you have certain responsibilities as a teacher. Promote your class through word-of-mouth, fliering, community outreach, and online. Work with other Free Skoolers to post calendars and fliers. Be prompt and reliable. Keep in touch with your students, before and after your class. Take good care of the spaces who graciously host your class. Help create a culture of greater caring, sharing, and balance with the earth without money and hierarchy.
Complete the online Free Skool class submission form by June 7th.
Please complete this form as soon as you can before the class registration deadline. If you want to help with the organizing parts of this whole grassroots endeavor, talk to us.
Love,
Free Skool Santa Cruz
