On May, 29, 2012 I interviewed Dr. Stephen Zunes about why he continues to oppose a military intervention in Syria. We also discussed the Bashar al-Assad regime, the nature of the pro-democracy movement and the armed resistance in Syria, as well as the role that the U.S., Russia, China and the United Nations have played in relation to the uprising in Syria. Dr. Stephen Zunes is one of the leading scholars of U.S. Middle East policy and of strategic nonviolent action, and a Professor of Politics and International Studies at the University of San Francisco, where he chairs the program in Middle Eastern Studies.
