Listen to the Universe

by C-gull
The federal government has eyes but it does not see; it has ears but it does not listen.

The recent eclipse of the sun has great spiritual meaning. When the moon (feminine power) past in front of the sun (masculine power) the spiritual universe was telling us that the feminine must regain its rightful place of nurturing power if we are to survive. In the Redding area the moon was exactly centered on the sun. Feminine power is essential to find and hold spiritual center. Without it we will fall into chaos.

Feminine ceremonies like the middle water Wintu hold for their young ladies are a vital part of the universal plan. Aboriginal ceremonies like these are necessary for the survival of the planet. By not helping the Wintu hold their ceremony in peace and quiet, the federal government is making a terrible mistake. The federal government has eyes but it does not see; it has ears but it does not listen. The Great Spirit has shown us what needs to be done.

The Forest Service has protected the right of other tribes to hold ceremony at the Bighorn Medicine Wheel in Wyoming and has even gone to court to defend that right. Why not at Shasta Lake/ Mc Cloud river? The federal government is sacrificing not only a nations right to hold on to its culture but also the nurturing power for Grandmother Earth. No amount of dam raising will make it right. Injustice is injustice.

To the middle water people I say what the writer Victor Hugo said long ago: "There is no such thing as a little nation. The greatness of a people is no more determined by their numbers than the greatness of a man is determined by his height".

To those who read this I say: do not be complicit in what the federal government is doing to the middle water people and other tribes. Stand up for justice. Stand up for what is right.
