COMMIT is happy to announce our 2nd Annual Urban Leadership Institute will be hosted at the California Endowment Conference Center on Monday, June 18, 2012 in downtown Oakland. This year we are expanding our reach from high school students to high school and community college students.
We are requesting organizations, campaigns and other groups for tabling from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. We expect nearly 100 young people from around the bay area to attend. Please email crystallee [at] growingjustice.org for additional details. Tables will be provided.
The mission of COMMIT [Community Leadership Institute] is to engage, educate and model change through justice seeking leadership practices focusing on cultivating action and peace. We know that this process must be intrinsically connected to how we do our work, how we use our power and privilege to organize and how we are changing and growing from the inside out.
Join us on Monday, June 18th in downtown Oakland for a 1-day intensive interactive training. Win prizes, meet new people and learn how to make your communities better for everyone.
