San Francisco, May 18 2012
Russian-speaking community activists will walk the Annual “Bay to Breakers” Foot Race, held on May 20th, in support of the growing Russian protest movement for political change. They plan walking 12K to show international solidarity with opposition activists in Russia, where since May 6 hundreds said they have been arrested for simply “strolling the streets Moscow”. The Russian-speaking activists in San Francisco aim to spread international awareness about violations of human rights and freedoms in Russia. Bay to Breakers is known for celebrating the freedom of self-expression.

We will gather at 8am at 3rd and Howard St., will start walking at 8:30am and will be broadcasting our GPS location as we progress towards the finish. We will be wearing costumes inspired by our love for Russia and by the Russian protest movement 2011-2012.
