Aggressive Pro-Corporate Farm Policies Driving Farmers Off Land In US And Around World

The federal government has aggressively promoted corporate, institutional agriculture since 1972. A policy paper generated by sever young turks in the Nixon Administration promoted corporate agriculture so aggressively, that they actually sought the elimination of "inefficient" family farms. The idea was to move the nation from a collection of small family farms which were barely able to feed their owners, to a more efficient corporate model which would be more "efficient" at exploiting the nation's agriculture resources.

Long before the current financial crash, the seeds for the financial misappropriation had already sprouted in the nation's farm loan bureaucracy. Aided and abetted by a policy to weed out small-scale farmers, through the manipulation of the loan process, a policy begun in 1972, (see Congressional Record,"Young Executives Plan to Liquidate Farmers," 6-16-1972-6-26-1972), small scale bureaucrats found a nice niche manipulating bureaucratic policy and sometimes fattening their wallets. The Report outlined an aggressive plan to eliminate millions of family farmers by the 21rst century.

Under the guise of making the nation's food supply more "efficient", the Plan laid the foundation for a scheme of driving more than 2 million small farmers out of business by 2000. The plan created a hostile atmosphere, and generated a fertile environment for illegal methods to drive family farmers out of business and has succeded beyond its wildest dreams. READMORE

Bureaucrats used a variety of administrative tools and policies to eliminate family farmers, including a variety of illegal, unconstitutional and inhumane acts.

Their methods then and now reportedly include: manipulation of loan regulations, document forgery, deceptive, often illegal practices of holding up loans funds, delaying disbursement of operating capital, illegally sharing applicant information with banks, realtors and investors, and feuding with outspoken farmers of all ethnicities. The situation was so bad, that many small farmers tried as hard as they could to avoid dealing with the federal farm loan bureaucracy, for fear of being driven out of business. Just like the massive criminal foreclosure conspiracy which has driven millions of Americans from their homes, the farm loan bureaucracy illegally foreclosed on family farmers who: paid their loans, paid their loans off, or, get this: NEVER HAD A FARM LOAN.

With a hostile farm loan policy in place, American farmer's placed their heads in the dragon's mouth and got decapitated. Many farmers say the aggressive federal farm loan foreclosure policy is not about loans: it is about land, lots of valuable farm land.

Farm rights activist say, "It's not about the money to the USDA, it's all about acquiring the land. Look at the Pigford Settlement, the USDA came back in the cover of darkness and placed liens back on property that was promised debt forgiveness. With this being just one of the things that continues to happen in a long list of dirty laundry we have questions that need to be answered." READMORE

There is a massive land grab going on in the US and around the world. Corporate interests and industrialized nations are aquiring land at a phenomenal rate. From massive expansions of corporate farms in the American farm belt, to land piracy and agri-terrorism in Africa, South America, corporations and UN policy are creating a massive international land grabbiing machine.

Whoever controls the land controls the nation, and nowhere is this policy more evident than in the current land grab on the African continent.
