Another thwarted terror bomb plot! Wait, it's a CIA bomb plot!
2 days ago, the US government announced--with great fanfare-that it has foiled another impending "terrorist bomb plot" that was targeting Americans. But then, a day later, it was revealed that the CIA was behind the entire operation! Not only was the supposed Afghan defector-turned-US agent "volunteered" into the al Qaida bomb-making cell, but he was able to smuggle the new "sophisticated" bomb back to the US, where he turned over the alleged "bomb" to the Feds so it could be analyzed...
Judging from previous "terrorist bomb plots" discovered and foiled by the Feds, this latest plot involved no specific target flights or dates. The CIA supposedly infiltrated the high-level al Qaida bomb-making cell. But if the CIA agent was able to penetrate the upper echelons of al Qaida, why not deliver a knockout punch to the nemesis? Instead, at the appropriate moment(such as the upcoming election of one or more of its candidates), voila, the Feds conveniently announce that it has thwarted another "terrorist bomb threat".
Isn't this another classical entrapment operation? After all, the US government provided the means, motive and even the opportunity for the potential terror plot. Therefore, some critics have justifiably denounced these fake bomb threats as an attempt to scare American citizens, in a perverted effort to defuse Public opposition to ever more repressive "security" measures. Is this the prelude to an accelerated march toward a totalitarian state?
