United Nations Webcast on Sustainability

by www.un.org/webcast
Interactive Panel: "Scientific findings on the impacts of human activities on the functioning of the Earth System" and Closing.
nteractive dialogue on “Harmony with Nature” in commemoration of International Mother Earth Day. - General Assembly 18 April 2012

Running time: 02:55:36

Science and technology helped in material production. A new model to heal the planet is necessary. Specialization can preclude holistic thinking, the core of sustainable development. Time to say goodbye to the old model of growth. We are part of the planet, not its masters or its owners. The regenerative capacity of the planet is central. We cannot be a burden to the earth. Science can help us in defining the limits. We must attack the roots of the problem.
