The University Of California Berkeley is in the 2nd phase of destroying People's Park
SAVE BERKELEY'S PEOPLE'S PARK! Donations to save the park can be sent to Zachary Running Wolf: 542 25th Street, Apt. 209, Oakland, California, 94612, or call 510 493 6143.
Who owns Muwekma Park? The University of California claims ownership of the park. Decisions and policies of the University are made by an undemocratic governing body known as the UC Board of Regents. This group of ruling class scum has People's Park in their cross-hairs and are ready to pull the trigger. We the Tree-People feel they will stop at nothing to redevelop the historic park and turn it into a profit maker.
The Ohlone People, despite never being federally recognized, are the original and rightful owners of People's Park. We feel that this lack of federal recognition is the most recent example of government sponsored ethnic cleansing against the indigenous people of North America.
Muwekma Park has been instrumental in providing food, clothes, and shelter for homeless and low-income working class people. Food Not Bombs has been serving food in the Park every business day for 15 straight years.
Stop the criminalization of the poor and homeless! With two imperial wars, trillions of dollars in bail-outs, and massive amounts of home foreclosures - the real criminals are the ruling class. We the tree-sitters intend to make sure the park remains intact and available for public service.
