The most pathetic march I have ever attended
The Move-in protest in Oakland was the most pathetic march of my 45 year experiences of protests.
The Move-in protest in Oakland was the most pathetic march of my 45 year experiences of protests. The protest already known as a set up by most by the ridiculous location, size of building and finally the name Kaiser did not result in a good outcome. But some 350 people decided to throw themselves into the mouth of the beast. Early signs were all bad with the incarceration of Kalid and Mo Mo should have alerted to most that targeting was in effect. Personally, when the sheriffs pointed at me to come and talk to them I decided to sit this one out and advised others targeted people to leave until the Fuck the Police march at 7pm. The march proceeded to the same place that we were set up in the Oscar Grant protest where 300 were trapped and arrested. The same result of "Kettling" over by Laney College and continuing the advised march to the end result of not Occupying anything for any duration of time what so ever. Other options could have been taking Oscar Grant Plaza back with tree-sit or waiting for the FTP march. I bet the police are partying tonight and sorry 350 comrades are doing Bullpen Therapy. 2700 dollars for this ridiculous bullshit (1 Day) and you will not fund the tree-sitters or vigil people for 9 weeks (63 days) of occupation. Ridiculous!!!

It'd be heresy to suggest that people attend city meetings to have input on process of rules and laws. That'd take a long, long time. It'd be difficult, frustrating, incremental, and involved compromise with people you dislike. So, baring the lack of willingness to do hard work, it's marching on the streets for a select few who tell themselves that makes a difference. Group think is the biggest problem OO faces.
That said, a few of his points on tactical details are worth consideration
I think he's a tribe of one, and I don't think he's true Native American.
This is irrelevant, and african-american or german americans or any self described latino would never have their ethnicity challenged. This sort of treatment only gets directed towards first nations people because of the land title that indians have in this country.
There were some news articles about Zachary which described how he was adopted off of his mother's reservation, illegitimately in many people's opinion because his mother was young and poor, rather than incompetent. This is probably more than anyone needs to know. If he refers to himself as belonging to an ethnicity, it's ridiculous to question any of it.
The problem that people in the movement have relates to his anger and threatening behavior, on some occasions.
I think his treesit was an individualist act when Occupy Oakland and the Occupy movement in general has been Communal. There are many critiques and discussions to come out of yesterday attempt to re-occupy, but Wolf-man should shut up until the women he attacked, and the comrades he stole from let him speak.
