Occupy Wall Street West - Bank Shutdowns and Montgomery Street Rally
After a successful all-day shutdown of Wells Fargo and Bank of America branches at Montgomery and California, evening shift activists took over Montgomery Street and shut it down for a street rally. (28 minutes)
Listen now:
Wall Street West is a labor-focused part of the Occupy movement. Local 2 activists from Hyatt Hotel, who continue pickets in front of the downtown Hyatts while struggling for justice in their contract negotiations, joined the rally in solidarity. Numerous people spoke.
The day and the rally were a tremendous success. After the rally, activists took to a march from Market Street to a building being converted to a controversial medical facility “for the 1%“ on Van Ness. Avenue.
